Art Style Research

There are lots of different kinds of farming games ranging from Harvest Moon, FarmVille, and Farming Simulator. So as part of my research I explored these and had a focused on those that were also RPG and their design.

Farming RPG Style Key Research Findings

-A lot of farming games are based of the theme of nature, adventure and diversity

-UI art colours tended to be natural and organic to the scenery like greens, blues, browns.

-Organic and simplistic shapes with smooth corners are used to create the sense of calmness.

-Art would be based of nature and 1980's farm stereotypical methods (red barns, polyculture)

-Shiny and gradient UI buttons were used as part of 2020's UI design trend .
