Aztec UI Collection
These pieces are inspired from my interest in history and the Aztecs. I created these to be used as future backgrounds, buttons, borders and icons within projects including Shiny Counter and Aztec Mining Game.
Art Style Research
To help with making my artwork in the style of the Aztecs I researched into some of the common themes and patterns used in their art at the time as well as other artists attempts on this too. Also it was important to understand the meaning behind it and the cultural values at the time.
Aztec Style Key Research Findings
-Turquoise, orange, black and other bright colours were considered important
-Symmetry and proportion were key in art design
-Triangles, squares, diamonds and other dramatic shapes were used especially within sequence patterns
-Highly influenced and inspired by religion and culture
-Lots of art examples found on wood and stone carvings
-Materials used include shells, gold, silver, precious gemstones, and feathers (Quetzal bird especially valued)
